Heather E. Hackett obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Montana in 1998, with honors in political science. She went on to Duquesne University Law School in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, where she graduated in 2001, cum laude. During law school, Ms. Hackett was a member of the law review, and worked as a paralegal for the U.S. Attorneys’ Office for the Western District of Pennsylvania in the White Collar Crimes Division.
After graduation, Ms. Hackett joined the law firm of Kirkpatrick & Lockhart Nicholson Graham, LLP in Pittsburgh. While at K&L, Ms. Hackett helped author The International Money Laundering Abatement and Anti-Terrorist Financing Act of 2001, published in paBanker Magazine, in October 2001. During her four years at K&L, Ms. Hackett specialized in insurance coverage matters and business litigation.
Since joining Levy Law, P.C., Ms. Hackett has specialized in personal injury and bad faith as well as construction defect litigation. Ms. Hackett recently obtained summary judgment in a bad faith suit. Ms. Hackett was selected as a “Colorado Rising Star” by Superlawyers magazine in 2009 and 2010.
Ms. Hackett is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and Colorado, and is admitted to practice in all Colorado federal and state courts as well as the Western District of Pennsylvania. Ms. Hackett is a member of the Denver Bar Association and the Colorado Bar Association.
